Hill`s Lexington Barbecue in Winston Salem

Excellent barbecue and the nicest staff you'll ever find. The sauce is reason enough to make it here, though their vinegar slaw is amazing too. The meat is tender and flavorful and the banana pudding is not to be missed. Highly recommended.

Been to places in Lexington North Carolina that has more larger portions, but I give it three stars nothing special about the BBQ same as others, friendly staff and good food just not impressive.

My friend loved his butter and hushpuppies. Great service. Makes you feel like one in the family. 1/4 chicken you get dirty and it takes a bit but is fresh and tasty. Bbq didnt last long. Fresh patato salad. With a drink $ 6.75.

We hold our company meetings there with a group of 25-30 people. Their service is second to none. The staff is very friendly and they have one of the best breakfast buffets in the south.

Food wasn't done all the way and they seem racists! Wouldn't recommend

Everything is great except for the sweet Tea. Every time ive gotten it it tastes like it is soured tasting.. Ive hadn't said anything to anybody cause I go in there alot.I'm a local truck driver and it's hard to find a good place to eat that U can get a truck in & Out and they dont mind trucks coming there.

Had our annual bus breakfast for Woodland Baptist church. Great time!

I love their BBQ, it's amazing. But they constantly screw up my order. I almost always get it to go as I'm constantly driving for my job. I always ask for a BBQ sandwich with NO slaw on it, yet there's ALWAYS slaw on it and I gotta wipe it off as best I can.If you don't mind having your order messed up, this place is great! 😊

Not recommended if you've had BBQ anywhere else... you won't get what you expect here. They don't even have ribs except on Thursday nights....wow. I will say that we came as part of a group of about 16-18 people, so could be that this place just doesn't know how to handle large groups, even though we came for an early supper and there weren't many people here.The sweet potato fries were cold (though ate them anyway because I don't leave food behind unless it's totally inedible), the pulled pork came in chunks (not shredded) (see pic) though it was still tasty despite being lukewarm only. Asked for extra bbq sauce and it looked more like broth (see picture), not traditional bbq sauce. I doubt I'll be coming back here.One last note, our waitress was good and seemed to be doing her best, so that was a positive thing.Addendum: found out afterwards that this type of bbq is unique to this area.... still would have been better with hotter food...

This place used to be very good, the years haven't been kind.

The BBQ is pretty good here, and their hush puppies are tasty too. I've had some of their other food but I'd stick to BBQ in the future. They also raised their prices recently, but I don't mind supporting the staff. They're always really nice.

The hostess and waitress were both very nice. Place appears clean. However what I took home to my family for supper was very disappointing to say the least. I ask for an order of chicken dumplings and received 4 oz (less than a baby food jar) for $6.25. I used a food scale !!Not as good as the canned stuff from the grocery store. If that is a serving than a regular size can (20 oz) should feed 5 people. I bought a child's plate of chicken strips. I received 2 preformed frozen chicken patties the kind made from pressed together scraps shaped the same and they were awful!! One reg plate with a meat and 2 veggies that was ok I waited 35 min and still had to go home and cook!! I will NEVER stop there again.!!!!.....there were 5 people there counting myself.

Best BBQ ever. This was my first visit and I loved the food and wait staff.

Worst hushpuppies I have eaten. Barbecue was not that great at all. Barbeque slaw was unpleasant as well.

Great local Barbecue restaurant with daily breakfast, lunch and Dinner specials. Down home,atmosphere with good home cooking meals. Lexington style Barbecue with all the fixins. Quick in and out or okay to set down and stay a while. They cater and offer areas for larger parties.

I really loved the fried okra! BBQ is pretty good but the choice of red or white slaw will make many BBQ lovers happy.

Bbq is not as good as it used to be. Hushpuppies are lacking flavor. If you are in a hurry for bbq ok but otherwise there are much better places. And I love good bbq.

The barbeque is so much better than any I have ever had. When I go to Winston hills is on my my list.

A longtime favorite of my father’s. Inexpensive andtasty food. We often go for breakfast, with a wide variety of options. I enjoy the breakfast sandwiches in particular.

The bbq was delicious. Desserts were always good.

I can remember my parents taking us here as kids, it's still as good as I remember. Retro decor and extremely nice management, I don't know why people aren't beating down the door.

Excellent BBQ...only 3 stars cuz items Sold Out on a Sunday evening. ..couldn't try southern fried chicken or their famous banana pudding. .disappointing!..BBQ is typical NC..vinegar no sauce very tasty..very sweet servers made for a pleasant stop even considering the aforementioned disappointment

Ate there as a child, food still as I remember. But it could stand a lot of remodeling.... lots!

Fried chicken and banana pudding was okay. Service was so so, had to remind waitress to bring our bread and she tried to remove my plate while I was still eating from it.

They ripped us off. I didn't have a menu and I ordered 1 pound of chopped, an extra pint of slaw and a pint of sauce. Total was over$17.00. I very there see a menu with a takeout special for s lb of BBQ with slaw and 12 hushpuppies or 4 buns for $10.90. I asked cashier if that is what I got and she said no and ignored me!! I will NOT go back.B

Food is awful....I can't believe they call this barbecue!!! Cole slaw was disgusting literally didn't even wanna pay for this food is was so tasteless and bland. I was here on a trip from VA and this place has nothing on the barbecue back home. Would recommend trying somewhere else!!! And the owner is rude and doesnt need to run a business. On a good note my waitress was amazing!!! The rest of the staff was less than impressive!!!!

Good food, friendly staff, fast service..what's not to like. Made for a quick lunch stop on the way to Pilot Mountain on a trip from Durham.

They have been in business since 1951, and it is family run. Andrew Zimmerman even agrees that it is the best BBQ. Make sure to get the red slaw on a sliced pork sandwich. You will fall in love. I promise

This BBQ here is unique and one of a kind. They have been in business in this location since I can remember. The people that come here seem to be locals. The staff is nice and friendly, and the atmosphere here is welcoming. If you have a big party of people, you can bring them here for a decent price you will be able to get a good amount of food to feed everyone. I will come back to eat their BBQ in the future. just as I have been since I was a child.

Hush puppies not don in center. Hot dog over cooked and wrinkled. Mustard over powered chili and slaw. Sweet tea not sweet. Afraid to try bbq.

A little pricey for what it is. However the bbq is tasty. The tea could be a little sweeter and the price a little lower.

Great food and large portions the bbq combination platter was very filling service was above and beyond the never let my tea get half empty they have a wide selection of desserts and thier menu was well priced i will be visiting this establishment more often they are great and a must try

BBQ chicken plate at lunch was fantastic. Moist just a good amount of smoke. White slaw with fried squash were excellent. Kids like the hush puppies and the mustard sauce for their chicken tenders. Will stop by again.

The place is a small Diner. Staff very friendly. Handicapped parking.Last time I had only the fries.Truthfully, they weren't very good.This time I had a chicken salad sandwich. Ugh....I'm pretty sure it wasn't homemade. It tasted like the chicken salad you buy in those small cans to put on crackers.It was ok, I had it on toast. But I wouldn't get it again.I will probably be back and try something different. They are a busy place!!!!

The lady at the front register was very rude...she didn't even acknowledge my husband and I standing there.. even though she was on the phone she didn't even put up her finger as to say a whole one minute another lady walked in and she did not acknowledge us either she just grabbed our ticket and rung us up and didn't say one word.. I will never eat there again and will encourage others not to do so either unless they want to be treated like a second-class citizen and then on top of that the food was not all that good the chopped BBQ sandwich taste like boiled meat there was no flavor

Food was good. Waitress was terrible. All of our order wasn't brought out, when we ask about it the waitress replied," I guess they are getting it ready". So a waiter took over and wanted to make excuses for the waitress stating that she was just under a lot of stress. A paying customer doesn't need to hear problems or excuses for the staff.
